If you want a native beautyberry, be sure to buy Callicarpa americana, as there are non-native varieties on the market (e.g., Callicarpa japonica). The video and handout will teach you how to tell the difference.
Pruning a beautyberry is an annual task, as the plant is a cane shrub that grows quickly. Pruning is easy, once you decide if you will do the 1/3 removal process or the renovation/renewal process. Both are demonstrated in the video.
