Prune Like a Pro: Rhododendron

Rhododendrons do not need a lot of pruning beyond the removal of the four D's (dead, damaged, diseased, dysfunctional). If you need to shape a rhododendron, that should be done as the blossoms begin to fade. removal of blossoms will allow the shrub to put its energy into vegetative growth rather than production of seed.
